Scituate Town Election Is May 31: Nomination Papers Now Available
The 2025 Scituate Annual Town Election will take place on Saturday, May 31, and residents interested in running for office can now obtain nomination papers from the Town Clerk’s Office.
"Nomination papers are available the fourth, which is tomorrow," said James Boudreau, Scituate Town Administrator, during the town’s weekly update. "Anybody who wishes to run on the ballot and take out nomination papers can contact the Town Clerk's Office."
Candidates must collect 100 certified signatures from registered voters in Scituate to qualify for the ballot. The deadline to submit nomination papers is April 11, 2025.
Voter Census and Registration Reminders
Boudreau also reminded residents that the 2025 Scituate town census was mailed in early January and urged households to return their forms as soon as possible.
"The clerk also wants to remind you that the census was mailed in early January. Please sign and return your census to the Town Clerk's Office as soon as possible," he said.
While the census cannot be used to register a voter or make changes to voter information, it is an essential step in ensuring accurate voter rolls. If a household reports that a registered voter has moved, a note is added to the voter’s file, but they cannot be removed from the voter list for two years unless they submit a signed request.
Residents who need to register to vote or update their registration can do so online at registertovoteMA.gov.
For more information on the town election, nomination papers, or voter registration, residents can contact the Scituate Town Clerk’s Office.
