Norwell voters elected Jana McCarthy and Elizabeth Bersell to the School Committee on Saturday, according to unofficial results from the town’s annual election.

McCarthy led the three-candidate race with 1,014 votes, followed closely by Bersell with 963 votes. Kara L. Vautour received 359 votes.

Following the election, McCarthy thanked supporters in a post on her campaign Facebook page and reflected on her first run for office.

“A giant THANK YOU to everyone who helped out through this experience,” McCarthy wrote. “I’ve never run for anything and frankly I had no idea how much it entailed.”

Bersell also thanked supporters after the election.

“THANK YOU! To everyone who held a sign, sent a postcard card, put a sign in their yard, and VOTED!” Bersell wrote on Facebook. “This community showed up for the people that show up! I can’t wait to serve Norwell in this role!”

Brian M. Greenberg won reelection to the Select Board and Danielle C. Shepherd was re-elected as town clerk.

Other uncontested races included James Koehler for Board of Assessors, Caitlin E. Warren for Board of Health, Steven P. Ivas for Board of Water Commissioners and Matthew H. Greene for moderator. All four candidates for Planning Board were elected.

In the race for Norwell Public Library trustees, both Sarah M. Cassidy and Jeanne M. Hagelstein-Ivas were elected to the two available seats.

Voters also rejected two nonbinding questions related to the town’s 3% Community Preservation Act property tax surcharge.
