Nomination Papers Available for Norwell’s 2025 Town Election

Key Town Roles Open for Election; Papers Available February 3 Through March 26

The 2025 Annual Town Election in Norwell will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025, and nomination papers for a variety of key town roles will be available starting February 3, 2025. Prospective candidates can pick up papers at the Town Clerk’s Office during normal business hours until March 26, 2025.

The following positions are up for election:

  • Board of Assessors: 2-year term: 1 position

  • Board of Assessors: 3-year term: 1 position

  • Board of Health: 3-year term: 1 position

  • Board of Water Commissioners: 3-year term: 1 position

  • Highway Surveyor/Director: 3-year term: 1 position

  • Moderator: 1-year term: 1 position

  • Norwell Housing Authority: 3-year term: 1 position

  • Norwell Public Library Trustee: 3-year term: 2 positions

  • Planning Board: 3-year term: 2 positions

  • School Committee: 3-year term: 2 positions

  • Select Board: 3-year term: 2 positions

  • Town Clerk:1-year term: 1 position

To qualify for the ballot, candidates must collect the required number of signatures from registered Norwell voters. The deadline to submit completed nomination papers is March 28, 2025.

Important election-related deadlines include:

  • Last day to object or withdraw: April 16, 2025

  • Last day to register to vote: May 7, 2025

  • Last day to absentee vote in person: May 16, 2025, at noon
