Police responded to multiple reports of vehicle break-ins across several neighborhoods over the weekend.
On Saturday, March 29, 2025 at 9:00am, officers responded to the Jacobs Trail neighborhood after residents from three homes reported their unlocked vehicles had been entered overnight while parked in driveways.
In a separate incident on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at 5:00am, officers responded to River Street for a report of males attempting to enter parked vehicles. Four juvenile males, aged 16 and 17 from Norwell (2), Abington and Braintree, were located walking down River Street. All four juveniles were released to their parents. By 9:30am, a total of 10 vehicles on River Street were reported to have been entered while parked in driveways. By 10:00am, an additional three vehicles parked in driveways on Forest Street were reported to have been entered overnight.
All vehicles in both incidents were reported to be unlocked. Residents are reminded to always lock vehicles even when parked in driveways, not leave keys inside vehicles, and remove valuable items.
Both incidents remain under investigation. Detectives request residents in the Jacobs Trail neighborhood, River Street area and Forest Street area to report suspicious activity and forward video surveillance to detective@norwellpolice.com.
The Plymouth County Sheriff's Department BCI is assisting with the investigation.
