Multi-Generational Facility Committee Seeks Community Input
The Multi-Generational Facility Committee is calling on Norwell residents to participate in upcoming public meetings to shape plans for a new community hub. The first information session is scheduled for next Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Council on Aging, with two additional meetings to follow.
“The multi-generational facility committee is having their first public meeting next week at two o'clock on Tuesday at the Council on Aging. For those who are interested to learn more, there will be two other information sessions, but that's the next one coming out,” said Peter Smellie, Norwell Select Board member, at the board's January 8 meeting.
The facility is envisioned as a shared space for Norwell residents of all ages, potentially including amenities for seniors, families, and youth. The project’s aim is to address the evolving needs of the town’s growing and diverse population.
Darlene Sullivan, Norwell’s Town Administrator, reiterated the significance of public feedback in the planning stages. “It’s important to ensure this facility reflects the needs and priorities of the entire community,” Sullivan said.
The initiative comes as Norwell continues to invest in community-oriented projects, such as the new town hall and other infrastructure improvements. The Multi-Generational Facility Committee hopes the meetings will provide valuable insights and encourage collaboration between residents and town officials.
Norwell residents are encouraged to attend the first meeting or the subsequent sessions to voice their opinions and learn more about the plans for this new community space. For additional information, visit the town’s website or contact the Council on Aging.
