Chris Rohland won Saturday’s special election for Marshfield Select Board in a landslide, capturing more than two-thirds of the vote in a three-way race.
According to preliminary election results, Rohland received 2,477 votes, or 68.4% of ballots cast. Jack Griffin finished second with 959 votes, or 26.5%, while Joe Pecevich received 185 votes, or 5.1%.
The election fills the remaining 21 months of the Select Board seat vacated by Trish Simpson.
Rohland is no stranger to Marshfield town government. He previously served on the Select Board and currently serves on the town’s Advisory Board, giving him experience on both the policy and financial sides of municipal government.
During the campaign, Rohland focused on resolving administrative issues at Town Hall, filling the vacant town administrator position and allowing residents to vote on the town’s proposed budget override.
His election restores the Select Board to its full three-member membership. Rohland will serve alongside Select Board members Eric Kelley and Rick Smith.
