Marshfield Selectman Stephen Darcy's trial postponed to May 11
MARSHFIELD — Select Board Member Stephen Darcy’s criminal trial for allegedly operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol was postponed to May 11 from April 21 at the defendant’s request.
The trial is now scheduled to take place that day at Plymouth District Court at 9 a.m.
Court documents obtained by the South Shore Times said that the trial was postponed when the court granted Darcy’s motion to continue, but did not explain why the court granted the request.
The trial had previously been postponed from March 5 to April 21 when the court granted the defense’s motion to continue. An April 17 document said that the court will not grant another continuance.
Darcy has been charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and negligent operation of a motor vehicle. He was arrested in Duxbury April 3 of last year, when police allege that he tested with a blood-alcohol level of .25%. The legal limit is .08%.
