Hanover set for Bruins Fan Fest and Friday Night Lights
HANOVER — The town is gearing up for a big night of community spirit Friday, Sept. 5, with both the Boston Bruins Fan Fest Tour and Hanover High School’s football season opener scheduled.
The Bruins Fan Fest Tour will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Sgt. Michael C. Chesna Memorial Rink, 495 Hanover St. The event will feature hockey games, interactive exhibits, Bruins merchandise, and kid-friendly fitness activities hosted by the Boston Bruins Foundation. Admission is free, though fans are encouraged to pre-register online to speed up entry. Members of the Bruins organization are expected to join the festivities.
Parking for Fan Fest will be available at Sylvester School, Center School, Riley Hall, Saint Mary’s Church, John Curtis Free Library, and Hanover Town Hall. Carpooling is encouraged due to expected traffic. More information and registration links are available at nhl.com/bruins/fans/fan-fest.
At 7 p.m., the Hanover High School Hawks football team will host Somerset Berkley Regional High School under the Friday night lights at Hanover High, 287 Cedar St. The game will feature halftime performances from the state champion Hanover High School cheerleaders and the Pride of Hanover Marching Band.
Officials advise residents to expect heavier-than-usual traffic around Hanover Center between 4 and 8 p.m. Public safety teams will be on-site to help manage the crowds.
