13 Injured in Hanover Crash Involving Van
Thirteen people were injured Thursday afternoon in a serious two-vehicle crash involving a van on Webster Street in Hanover, prompting a large-scale emergency response and the declaration of a Level 1 Mass Casualty Incident (MCI).
The collision occurred on the 500 block of Webster Street (Route 123), resulting in multiple injuries and a call for mutual aid across Plymouth County. One of the vehicles was a van, likely contributing to the high number of patients.
The Hanover Fire Department responded with Car 1, Car 5, Engine 1, Ambulance 1, and Ambulance 2. All off-duty personnel were called back to assist at the scene and ensure continued emergency coverage throughout town.
A Plymouth County Strike Team of five mutual aid ambulances was deployed, and departments from across the region responded. Ambulances from Rockland, Norwell, Hanson, Hingham, Abington, Whitman, and Pembroke were dispatched.
