Cohasset approves mutual aid, liquor license
Cohasset officials approved a series of routine but consequential items during the March 10 Select Board meeting, including joining a statewide emergency mutual aid program, expanding alcohol service at a major local venue, and filling a leadership role on the board.
Emergency Management
The board voted to join the state’s Municipal Emergency Management Mutual Aid program, formalizing an agreement that allows communities to request and provide emergency assistance across municipal lines.
Emergency Management Director Glenn Pratt said nearly all Massachusetts communities already participate in the program, which helps streamline coordination during emergencies.
The agreement was approved unanimously.
Wine and Malt License
The board also approved a request from South Shore Playhouse Associates to convert the South Shore Music Circus from a wine and malt license to a full liquor license.
Officials said the change is intended to expand customer options and better align concessions with audience expectations.
The request was approved unanimously.
Board Clerk
In other business, the Select Board voted to appoint member David Farrag as board clerk following a recent resignation.
Chair Ellen Maher said the role includes maintaining meeting records and supporting board operations.
Farrag accepted the position, and the appointment was approved by unanimous vote.
