Cohasset Maritime Institute (CMI) has announced the launch of Row Forward, the South Shore’s first coastal rowing program tailored specifically for adult cancer survivors. Designed for individuals either new to rowing or returning after a break, the program provides a supportive, step-by-step experience.

Row Forward includes indoor erg training, stationary rowing in water tanks, learn-to-row safety orientation, and on-the-water crew sessions. Participants row in teams of four, supported by experienced coaches and coxswains trained to foster trust and ensure comfort on the water.

The eight-week program begins Wednesday, April 23, from 5 to 7 p.m. A second session will begin on Wednesday, June 18. The full session costs $350, and financial assistance is available.

Program Director and Coach Frank Townsend oversees the initiative and can be contacted at programdirector@rowcmi.org with questions.
