Residents of Norwell, Cohasset, Scituate, Marshfield, Hingham, and Hanover should prepare for a mix of winter weather in the coming days, with fluctuating temperatures, strong winds, and potential snowfall.

On Saturday, February 15, temperatures will reach a high of 31°F before dropping to 24°F overnight with snow starting in the evening. In anticipation of the snow, the Norwell and Scituate announced parking bans starting at 6:00 PM on Saturday, February 15, through Sunday, February 16 on Facebook.

By Sunday, February 16, the weather will take a turn as strong winds move in, bringing rain and sleet. Slippery conditions may develop early in the day as precipitation transitions, so travelers should be cautious. Temperatures will climb to 43°F but drop significantly to 23°F by nightfall.

On Monday, February 17, cold air returns, accompanied by gusty winds reaching speeds of 43 mph. Expect partly sunny skies, but temperatures will struggle to rise above 28°F , with a frigid low of 13°F. These strong winds could lead to travel delays and even localized power outages, so securing outdoor objects is advised.

Tuesday, February 18, will be another very cold and windy day. Mostly sunny skies won’t do much to warm the region, with a high of only 24°F and an overnight low of 11°F. Forecasters are keeping a close watch on an approaching winter storm, which could impact the area later in the week.

By Wednesday, February 19, conditions remain cold but relatively calm in the morning. Clouds will increase throughout the day, signaling a change in the weather pattern. Highs will reach 27° with a low of 20°F overnight.

Then, on Thursday, February 20, a powerful storm system may bring the biggest snowfall of the season thus far. Snow is expected throughout the day, accompanied by strong winds that could create hazardous travel conditions. The high will be around 33°F, with temperatures dipping to 25°F at night. This developing storm has the potential to cause significant disruptions, so residents should stay updated on forecasts as the week progresses.

With winter weather intensifying, now is a good time to prepare for snow-covered roads, possible power outages, and shifting conditions. Keep an eye on the latest updates and be ready for what could be a major winter storm later in the week.
