Marshfield High School gymnastics beats Pembroke/Silver Lake
The Marshfield High School Girls gymnastic team had its third meet of the season January 26 with a League Dual meet against the Pembroke/Silver Lake High School at the Hanover YMCA. Marshfield won the meet with a score of 133.4-131.95.
Maya Overton of Marshfield won the All-Around competition outright with a score of 34.9 and came in first in three events. Marshfield’s Sophie Neumann came in second with a score of 33.35. Carrie Dynan of Pembroke/Silver Lake placed third with a score of 33.3, while her teammate Heidi Dow came in fourth with a score of 32.95.
On vault, Marshfield came in first, second and third place, with Sophie Neumann winning the event with a score of 9.4. Avery Gerstel came in second with a score of 9.1 and Overton placed third with a score of 9.0. Marshfield's Emily Emond set a personal record with her score of 8.5.
On balance beam, Marshfield placed first and second, with Overton winning with a 9.1 followed by her teammate Kyra McDonnell at 8.9. Third place went to Pembroke/Silver Lake’s Tessa Vitale, scoring 8.6.
In floor exercise, Marshfield’s Maya Overton won again, scoring 8.55, followed by Pembroke/Silver Lake’s Dow and Braelyn Bates scoring 8.35 and Carrie Dynan in third, scoring 8.25.
Marshfield goes to 2-1 overall and has its next meet at Whitman/Hanson January 9 at 8:00 p.m.
