Marshfield Girls Gymnastics Defeats Hanover

The Marshfield High School Girls Gymnastic team had its 6th meet of the season Thursday night 15 Jan 26 with a League Dual meet against Hanover High School at the Hanover YMCA.        

Marshfield won the meet with a score of 131.4 - 125.85. 

Maya Overton of Marshfield tied for 1st in the All-Around (AA) competition with Hanover's Natalie Frank with a score of 34.4 and came in 1st in 2 events. MHS’s Avery Gerstel came in 2nd with a score of 33.45. Hanovers Cailey Fisher  placed 3rd w/ a score of 30.15.                

On Vault, Marshfield came in 1st & 2nd w/ Sophie Neumann winning the event with a score of 9.3.  Avery Gerstel came in 2nd scoring 9.0, Hanovers Frank came in 3rd w/ a score of 8.55. MHS's Overton came in 4th w/ a score of 8.45.    

On Uneven Bars Marshfield Overton tied again for 1st w/ Natalie Frank from Hanover w/ a score of 8.3 followed by teammate Gerstel for 2nd place w/ a score of 8.1 with her teammate Neumann on her heels in 3rd with a score of 7.8.    

On Balance Beam Marshfield’s placed 1st & 3rd w/ Overton winning with a 9.0 followed by Hanover's Frank in 2nd w/ a score of 8.75 with MHS's Eliza McAlpine scoring 8.15.        

Floor Exercise Hanovers Natalie Franks wins the event scoring 8.8 with Maya Overton from Marshfield in 2nd place with a score of 8.65, followed by MHS's Sophie Neumann in 3rd w/ a score of 8.45 and her teammate Avery Gerstel coming up fast w/ a score of 8.35 for 4th.     

Marshfield goes to 5 - 1 overall and has its next meet away against Plymouth Saturday January 17th @ 5:00p.
