Hingham Track Shines at State Meet
A rainy and unpredictable spring didn’t slow down the Hingham High School track and field team at this weekend’s MIAA State Championships, where the Harbormen delivered a strong showing and etched their names into the record books.
The biggest highlight came from the 4x100 meter relay team of Colin McNamara, Sam Reffue, Jack Brockney, and Graham Carlson, who not only placed among the top relay squads in the state but also set a new Hingham High School record. Their performance earned them a #32 ranking in Massachusetts.
Senior Graham Carlson added to the team’s success with a fifth-place finish in the 200 meters, showcasing his speed on one of the season’s biggest stages.
Zach Larsen secured a fifth-place finish in the discus, continuing his strong run in field events. Sean Curry competed in the high jump, while Tyler Grady and Zach Wong represented Hingham in the javelin.
The 400-meter hurdles featured standout efforts from Nicki Harris and Jack Monroe, who each took on one of the meet’s toughest races.
Hingham also fielded multiple relay teams, with solid performances across the board:
In the 4x200 meter relay, Nate Antoine, Matt McCarthy, Colin McNamara, and JJ Johnson showed off the team’s sprint depth.
In the 4x800 meter relay, Aaron Roberts, Tommy Simpson, Connor Anderson, and Adam Healy earned a time that placed them #51 statewide.
After battling through a spring filled with soggy workouts and meet delays, Hingham’s athletes proved they were more than ready for the postseason spotlight.
