Hingham Cross Country Finds Their Stride Against Plymouth North
The Hingham Girls Cross Country team defeat Plymouth North 22–37 with strong performances across the board. Casey Gately led the charge, earning a spot on the Patriot League All-Star Team with her continued excellence. Mary Slankas and Leonie Eigenmann followed close behind, helping to secure the team win. Scoring was rounded out by Ally Mildrum, Samantha Jesson, Sophia McDougall, and Caroline Newth. Freshman Skyla Austin had her best race of the season, finishing 15th overall.
On the boys’ side, Hingham put up a strong fight but ultimately fell short to a tough Plymouth North squad. Top finishers included Gavin Anderson (2nd, 16:45), Will Watts (5th, 17:29), and Tommy Simpson (7th, 17:52). Personal records were set by freshmen Lukas McAloon, Eli Smock, Dylan Easton, and Nolan Kust, showing that the future of the team is bright.
The girls team will compete in the MSTCA Bob Glennon Twilight meet this Saturday October 11th on the Cape Cod Fairgrounds. The boys team’s next race is the Catholic Memorial Invitational on October 18th.
