Hanover Softball Tops Duxbury 13-4 with Explosive 9-Run Fifth
Hanover improves to 8-5 overall as Giardina, Hanna lead offense in Patriot League victory
Hanover softball (8-5 overall, 6-3 Patriot League) powered past Duxbury 13-4 on Wednesday, fueled by a nine-run explosion in the fifth inning. Senior Noey Giardina led the offense with two doubles and four RBIs, while senior Abby Hanna launched a two-run homer. Junior Abby Minasi added two hits and scored twice, and junior Heather McGinnis also tallied two hits. Sophomore Lyda Heckathorn collected two hits and scored two runs, and freshman Abby Keddy chipped in with two hits and two runs. Junior pitcher Talia Beer helped her own cause with two hits, including a double, while earning the win on the mound. Beer allowed eight hits and struck out three to improve her record to 8-5.
Hanover returns home to face Whitman-Hanson on May 9.
