Hanover Police, in collaboration with the Massachusetts State Police Cyber Crimes Unit and the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force (ICAC), executed a search warrant on January 16, 2025, leading to the arrest of a local resident, Patrick Turpin, 27. The investigation revealed evidence of possession and dissemination of Child Abuse Sexual Material (CSAM).

During the search of Turpin’s residence, additional evidence was seized, which is now under forensic examination by the ICAC Task Force. Turpin was taken into custody and charged with one count of possession of CSAM and one count of disseminating CSAM.

Following his arrest, Turpin was booked at the Hanover Police Station. Bail was set at $25,000 by an after-hours bail clerk, and he was held overnight. On January 17, Turpin was arraigned in Hingham District Court, where bail remained at $25,000, and a pretrial date was scheduled.

Hanover Police Chief Timothy Kane emphasized the department’s commitment to the safety of the community and thanked the Massachusetts State Police for their assistance in this ongoing investigation. Authorities have indicated that additional charges may be filed as the forensic examination of the evidence continues.
