Scituate Resident, Sharon Smith, Joins ADDP Board
Sharon Smith, CEO of WORK Inc., was recently appointed to the Association of Developmental Disabilities Providers Board of Directors. She joins with two other new members Peter Evers, President and CEO of BAMSI and Kim McElholm, President and CEO of Cape Abilities.
“ADDP is strengthened by the leadership and vision of these new directors, who deeply understand the challenges that provider organizations face in Massachusetts,” said ADDP President & CEO Stephanie Costa. “Their insights from within our network of providers will be invaluable as we work to advance sustainable supports for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including autism and brain injuries, their families, and the workforce that supports them.”
WORK Inc. is the largest employer of people with disabilities in the region, serving over 1,500 individuals with all types of disabilities. With more than 30 years of experience in the nonprofit sector, Smith is committed to developing and implementing service models that promote the employment and support of individuals with disabilities. She has held a myriad of management positions at WORK Inc. in her 26-year tenure.
The Scituate resident received a bachelor’s degree from Bridgewater State University and earned master’s degrees in social work and business administration from Boston University.
“Peter, Kim, and Sharon each bring to the board unique perspectives of the human impact of their organizations’ work,” said ADDP Board Chair Diane Gould. “ADDP is enhanced by our collaboration across organizations, and I am confident that their leadership will move our network forward and help shape our advocacy efforts to address the stability of the human services workforce and ensure that our system honors the dignity of the people we serve.”
With the new appointments, ADDP has expanded to a total of 25 directors.
