I'd like to introduce myself to the community as the new Executive Director of the James Library & Center for the Arts. My name is Liz Helfer, and I am honored to be part of an organization that has served as a hub for creativity, learning, and community for so long.

I come to the James Library with a background in public arts and nonprofit leadership. For the past several years, I have been the Public Arts & Culture Planner for the City of Watertown, MA, and I am also a practicing sculptor with permanent installations in several locations, including here in Massachusetts. I'm excited to bring my experience and passion for the arts to Norwell.

A top priority for me is to continue the tradition of excellent programming. To that end, I am thrilled to share that we are now accepting submissions for our Annual Fall Juried Art Show through our website. The deadline to apply online is October 1st. I look forward to meeting many of you at our upcoming events and working with the staff and volunteers to expand our reach in the South Shore. You can learn more about me and see my work at elizabethhelfer.com, and find information on all of our events at jameslibrary.org.

Thank you,

Liz Helfer
