Raisa Alexandrovna Kumpiak
Raisa Alexandrovna Kumpiak, 78, went to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully at home in Norwell on January 29, 2026, surrounded by her family.
Born on July 27, 1947 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, she was the daughter of the late Alexander and Eudokia Kumpiak. After graduating from high school, she went on to receive a Civil Engineering degree at Tomsk Civil Engineering Institute, Russia. Having returned to her hometown, Raisa worked for many years at the Kyrgyz Republic Television and Radio Center as well as in the private sector before retiring on November 1, 2009.
Raisa was the devoted wife of the late Vyacheslav Rozhnov for 27 years, loving mother of Inna Dobroski (and her husband Dr. David R. Dobroski) of Norwell, MA, and cherished stepmother to Anton Rozhnov (and his wife Anna Rozhnova) of Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. She is survived by her sister, Lubov Voropaeva, and numerous grandchildren including Alexander and Andrew Dobroski, as well as Raisa's extended family and friends.
Raisa will always be remembered as a compassionate and kind person, full of sunshine and warmth. Out of boundless love she generously poured her life into her family and friends. As a mother she was always there for her children, lifting them up, sharing her wisdom, and supporting them in every good endeavor. As a grandmother, she enjoyed every minute with her grandchildren, reading to them, listening to their stories, and playing with them. Selflessly, tirelessly, and with joy she cared for her parents, siblings, nieces and nephews, turning no one away in times of need. She was "the light of the world" pointing others to Jesus.
During her high school years Raisa developed a love for the outdoors, hiking in the beautiful mountains of Kyrgyzstan with a smile on her face and a bouquet of wildflowers in her hand. She carried a passion for travel and adventure throughout her life. An avid photographer, she documented many beautiful memories for her family. Most of all, she enjoyed gathering her entire family around the dinner table at her small apartment.
The Celebration of Raisa's life will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026 at 11:45 am at South Shore Baptist Church, 78 Main St., Hingham. The service will be preceded by a time of visitation with friends at 10:30 am to 11:30am. The service will be followed by a luncheon reception at the church. Memorial donations may be made to the South Shore Hospital Foundation.
