Jeffrey Stout
Jeffrey G. Stout, 70, of Marshfield, MA, formerly of Scituate, MA, passed away February 16, 2026, after a brief illness. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 43 years, Christie (Hannigan) Stout. Jeff is also survived by his sisters Sharyn Turner of North Carolina, Carol Stout of New Jersey, and his nephew, Andrew Turner, of Florida, and the extended Hannigan/Fisher families.
Jeff was born in New Jersey and moved to Massachusetts as a child. Educated at Derby Academy, Thayer Academy and Eastern Nazarene College, Jeff then embarked on a 35 year career in retail, starting with The Bay Company in Hingham to Brooks Brothers and ultimately retiring from TJ Maxx. Jeff's second career began at Kennedy Country Gardens, igniting his lifelong passion for gardening where he branched out on his own to create beautiful spaces for his clients on the South Shore. Nothing brought Jeff more joy than working in a garden, planting and planning- except maybe watching Monty Don do it on BBC Gardeners World.
Jeff was a kind and gentle man whose calm demeanor disguised a quick, dry sense of humor. He loved his wife, their four-legged fur babies, and spending time with them in their cozy home.
A Celebration of Life to honor Jeff will follow in the Spring.
In honor of Jeff's love for animals, please consider a donation to the Marshfield Animal Shelter or the shelter of your choice.
