James V. Finn of Pembroke, formerly of Weymouth and South Boston, died October 26, 2026 at the age of 95.
Jimmy grew up in South Boston and served in the U.S. Navy. He and the love of his life, Geraldine M. (Carey) Finn, shared 64 years of marriage before her passing in 2017, and together they raised their large family in Weymouth. Jimmy spent 38 years as a lineman with Boston Edison, retiring as a supervisor. Blessed with a remarkable memory, he never forgot a face and could recall coworkers' names decades after retiring. Family was the center of Jimmy's world. He rarely missed a school function or event for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and he stayed actively involved in their lives right up until the end. A proud member of the Knights of Columbus, he was also a devoted Boston sports fan. The Celtics were his favorite, though he followed the Patriots and Red Sox just as closely. Jimmy always knew what mattered most in life, and he leaves behind a tremendous legacy of love, pride, and dedication.
He was the beloved husband of the late Geraldine M. (Carey) Finn. Loving father of James Finn and his wife Debbie of Abington; Kevin Finn and his wife Sue of South Weymouth; the late Gregg Finn and his wife Robin of South Weymouth; Geraldine Finn and her partner Dale Southworth of Pembroke; Anna Moore and her husband Michael of South Weymouth; Carol Rone and her husband Keith of FL; Eileen McGee of NC and her late husband Kevin McGee; Jacqueline Finn of South Weymouth and her late partner Brian O’Donnell; Patricia Comeau and her husband Scott of Weymouth; and Nancy Mohan and her husband Glenn of Whitman. Jimmy was one of ten siblings and is survived by his sister Eileen Miller of GA. Proud "Papa" to 14 grandchildren, including the late Nicole, and 16 great grandchildren. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Sunday 11/1/2026 from 3-6 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home SOUTH WEYMOUTH at 809 Main Street (Rte 18 opp. So.
