Arthur T. Jennings, Jr., 74, a long-time resident of Hanover, passed away peacefully at South Shore Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family, on Monday, February 2nd after a brief illness.

Arthur was born in Quincy, to the late Arthur T. and Dorothy (Monti) Jennings. He is survived by his sister Mary Jennings of Quincy and Teresa Merritt and her husband Neal of Hanover. Also survived by his loving nephews Parker Merritt and his wife, Ketlhin and Thomas Merritt and his fiancé Abbey. Many thanks to our close family friend Brian, who was always there to lend a hand and visited Arthur regularly.

Arthur loved sports, including hunting and fishing and years ago coaching Hanover Youth Hockey. He was an avid Boston sports fan and long-time member of the Holbrook Sportsmen's Club.

He carried a lifelong fondness for classic American cars of his youth and the timeless sounds of the Beach Boys. More than anything, he enjoyed spending time at his cottage on Fearing's Pond with his nephews and their beloved dog Stella. He enjoyed the simple pleasures of life.

Faced with health challenges throughout his life, Arthur worked hard and persevered.

The family would like to thank the staff at Benchmark-Hanover for their kindness and compassion over the past year.

He will be missed by many - his memory a blessing.

All services will be private.
