The Norwell High School boys’ basketball team has made history. In a game for the ages at the Tsongas Center, the Clippers secured their first-ever MIAA Division 3 state championship, defeating Old Rochester 64-61 in overtime.

Senior guard Ronan Coffey delivered a performance that will be remembered for years, scoring 30 points, including a clutch buzzer-beating three-pointer at the end of regulation to send the game into overtime.

And he wasn’t finished. In overtime, Coffey scored eight of Norwell’s 10 points, taking control of the game when it mattered most.

With the win, Norwell finishes the season 25-0, the only unbeaten team in Division 3. It’s the school’s first boys' basketball championship, a feat that cements this group as one of the greatest in program history.

As the final buzzer sounded, the Clippers stormed the court, celebrating the culmination of a season defined by grit, chemistry, and relentless determination.
