Norwell's Bo-Tes Imports will soon operate under new ownership and a new name, following the Norwell Select Board's approval of a license transfer at their December 18 meeting.
The Main Street establishment will become Beacon Kitchen and Market LLC under new owners Jeffrey D. Wilson and Shane C. McNamara. The business transfer was approved after a brief public hearing where McNamara outlined plans for the establishment.
"We're keeping it relatively the same," McNamara told the Select Board. "We're just going to expand upon what Tom and Mary have already done." The new owners plan to maintain the popular deli portion, sandwich offerings, beer and wine selection, and the specialty spreads that current customers enjoy.
Changes will primarily be cosmetic, with some minor adjustments and rebranding planned for the 714 Main Street location. The business model will remain largely unchanged, preserving the establishment's role as a local food and beverage destination.
The Select Board unanimously approved the transfer of the wine and malt license to the new owners, with board members expressing their support for the continuation of the business. "Congratulations and good luck," offered Select Board Clerk Brian Greenberg during the hearing.
The license transfer will enable Beacon Kitchen and Market to continue serving the Norwell community from the same location, maintaining a familiar local business while introducing new ownership and subtle improvements to the establishment.
