South Shore Conservatory presents Duxbury Music Festival

South Shore Conservatory’s (SSC) highly anticipated Duxbury Music Festival (DMF)  returns this summer, offering events in picturesque locations throughout Duxbury, from Friday, June 26 to Friday, July 3. This year’s Festival promises an exciting lineup of performances, diverse musical genres, and engaging activities for the entire community.

“Duxbury Music Festival is thrilled to announce its Summer 2026 season which will showcase its inaugural jazz, and long-standing classical music, faculties and the exceptionally talented young musicians - many of them local - who will study and perform with the world renowned faculty members,” said Stephen Deitz, DMF Artistic Director.

Duxbury Music Festival features a rich program that includes performances in jazz, classical, rock, and other genres. Attendees can look forward to a series of concert events held at iconic locations, including the Duxbury Town Green, The Art Complex Museum, and SSC’s Ellison Center for the Arts. 

“We encourage families and individuals to get involved by volunteering, making donations, and attending the performances” said Abigail MacDonald, DMF Manager.  “Every contribution helps us bring top-notch performances while fostering a love for the arts in our community.”

This year’s Duxbury Music Festival kicks off on the Duxbury Town Green with a free concert featuring Benn & Company on Friday, June 26, bringing a lively dance party filled with Motown classics, R&B, and pop hits. Back on the Duxbury Town Green the following afternoon, Saturday, June 27 at 3 pm, DMF presents The Best of Sinatra with a Swingin’ Affair 16-piece big band.  This swingin’ outdoor concert features timeless favorites from the Rat Pack era. 

On Sunday, June 28, from 11 am - 2 pm, DMF brings back fan-favorite Family Day on the Duxbury Town Green.  Families can enjoy music themed crafts, drums circles, Music Together ™ classes, and food.  Appropriate for kids from infant through elementary school.  Admission is free.

Ellison Center for the Arts (ECA) concerts begin Sunday, June 28 at 6 pm with the opening faculty concert, Dreamscapes, featuring the DMF return of the beloved DMF Artistic Director and pianist, Stephen Deitz, world-renowned pianist Oxana Yablonskaya and her son, acclaimed cellist Dmitry Yablonsky.  A Paris-themed classical concert, called From Paris to New York, is at The Art Complex Museum on Tuesday, June 30 at 6 pm.  As a special surprise, on Wednesday, July 1, 6 pm at the ECA, Duxbury Music Festival presents local Dixieland Jazz favorite The Dukes of Windsor.  On Thursday, July 2, at 6 pm; a Jazz Cabaret features DMF’s celebrated jazz faculty for the first time in festival history.  The Festival Finale performance is Friday, July 3 at 6 pm, and features all faculty and students.

DMF promises to be a memorable celebration of talent, unity, and the joy of music.
