Maine Man Arrested at Hanover Crossing for Lewdness, Drug Charges

Police arrested Justin S. Graves of Maine after a teenage victim reported a disturbing encounter at Hanover Crossing.

A Maine man is facing multiple charges after an alarming incident at Hanover Crossing on Sunday morning.

Hanover Police responded to a report of a suspicious male at 1775 Washington Street at approximately 10:08 a.m. The 17-year-old female victim told police she was seated in her vehicle when a white pickup truck pulled up beside her. According to the victim, the male driver stared at her before exiting the truck and exposing himself.

The suspect then returned to his truck and began circling the victim’s vehicle. He later pulled up alongside her again, honking his horn to get her attention. When unsuccessful, the man parked in front of a nearby business.

Officers arrived at the scene, interviewed the victim, and obtained a detailed description of the suspect and his vehicle, including a photograph. Police quickly located the vehicle and its driver, identified as Justin S. Graves, 36, of Springvale, Maine.

Following an investigation, Graves was arrested and transported to the Hanover Police Department. He was charged with the following offenses:

  • Open and Gross Lewdness (MGL 272/16)

  • Possession of a Class E Drug (MGL 94C/34)

  • Possession with Intent to Distribute a Class D Drug (2 counts) (MGL 94C/32C)

  • Possession of a Class B Drug (2 counts) (MGL 94C/34)

  • Possession of a Class D Drug (2 counts) (MGL 94C/34)

Graves was held on $10,000 cash bail and arraigned at Hingham District Court on Monday morning. A pre-trial hearing has been scheduled for February 11, 2025.
