The Duxbury Alternative Energy Committee is hosting this informative evening to encourage South Shore businesses and nonprofits to solarize now before a generous 30% federal tax credit phases out. The credit is available to businesses, nonprofits and farms for commercial solar systems that are in service by December 31, 2027.
Attendees will learn how to access the federal credit as well as robust Massachusetts commercial solar incentives, which are not expiring, including a 100% property tax exemption for solar equipment, among others.
In a panel discussion representatives from Duxbury's Island Creek Oysters, Bayside Marine and St. John the Evangelist Episcopal Church will share the details of their recent successful solar projects: securing financing and permitting, choosing the right vendor, and achieving significant cost savings.
Local green energy vendors, including Ecoloop, will also be in attendance to provide further information, including lists of vetted solar providers catering to the South Shore. Solar energy is now the cheapest source of energy worldwide achieving significant cost savings over time for consumers, businesses and nonprofits while cutting greenhouse gas emissions.
