Youth athletes are under lots of pressure these days. In addition to keeping up with school work and managing the unique stressors of social media, they are also contending with more games and practices for town and club teams than ever before. With their time and their physical capabilities often pushed to the limit, we need to make sure that we are prioritizing their physical and mental health to prevent injuries, anxiety, and burnout.
On Tuesday, November 11th (Veteran’s Day) from 11-1pm Magnitude Strength & Power is hosting a speaker panel called “Building the Resilient Athlete” where we will hear from industry experts on key topics related to athlete health and well-being. Participants can expect to hear from a Sport Psychologist, a Sport Nutritionist, and a Physical Therapist who specializes in return to sport after injury. There will be an opportunity to ask questions during the presentations as well.
Topics and Speakers Include:
-"Twin Thieves: How Fear Limits Resiliency in Athletes" by Sport Psychologist Tony Tucci
-"Be Resilient. Fuel Efficiently." by Sport Nutritionist Tiffany Chag
-"Injury Prevention, Management, and Safe Return to Sport" by Physical Therapist Michele Lederman.
Tickets for the speaker panel are just $20 and are a donation to Morgan’s Message, a charity that raises awareness and resources for student athlete mental health. Light lunch will be provided by Clandestine Kitchen.
