New Coastal-Inspired Restaurant Opening in Scituate
Doug Rodrigues, owner of Osteria Vivo in Pembroke, has announced the opening of his new restaurant, The Salt Marsh Winery, this spring. The restaurant will be located at 17 New Driftway in Scituate, the former site of Rivershed.
Rodrigues shared details of the project in a recent social media post, describing The Salt Marsh Winery as a celebration of coastal New England flavors. “Nestled in the heart of Scituate, we celebrate the beauty of the coast with dishes inspired by the freshest, peak-season ingredients,” Rodrigues wrote.
The menu will emphasize locally sourced ingredients, featuring partnerships with regional fishermen, farmers, and other producers. Rodrigues aims to highlight the essence of New England’s coastal charm through creative culinary offerings.
The location, near Scituate Harbor, positions the restaurant in a bustling area with strong ties to the community. The site has been vacant since Rivershed’s closure, and many residents are eager to see a new business breathe life into the space.
The Salt Marsh Winery is expected to open in the coming months. Updates on the restaurant’s progress and menu offerings will be shared as the launch date approaches.
