MARSHFIELD — A new fitness option has arrived in town as btone FITNESS officially opened its newest studio in Webster Square, bringing its signature Pilates-inspired, strength-focused workouts to Marshfield.

The 2,100-square-foot studio, located at 23 Snow Road, is owned and operated by co-owners Heidi Boie and Marshfield resident Darlene Hollywood Hale. The Marshfield location marks the second btone franchise for the duo, who also own a studio in Walpole.

“We’ve known for a long time that Marshfield would be an ideal market for btone FITNESS given there’s nothing else like it here,” Boie and Hale said in a statement. “When this space became available in Webster Square, we jumped at the opportunity.”

btone FITNESS offers 45-minute, total-body workouts using customized reformers exclusive to the brand. The workouts combine Pilates-inspired movements with strength training and functional fitness, allowing participants to tailor resistance and positioning based on their fitness level and goals.

“The btone workout is an approachable and customizable hybrid of Pilates-inspired movements and strength training,” the owners said. “It’s designed for all levels and ages — for every body, every day.”

The Marshfield studio features 12 customized reformers, which owners say allow for a highly personalized group fitness experience. Unlike traditional group exercise classes, clients can safely modify each movement by adjusting spring resistance and body positioning.

“Our reformers — which we affectionately call TONEy — help strengthen every major muscle group,” Hale said. “The movements may be slow, but they deliver fast results.”

Founded more than 15 years ago, btone FITNESS has grown steadily across Massachusetts and beyond. According to founder Jody Merrill, a Cape Cod resident, the Marshfield opening is part of a broader national expansion strategy.

“The company is on a fast track to have close to 45 studios open by the end of 2026,” Merrill said. “Last year alone, seven new studios opened, laying the foundation for continued growth across the U.S.”

btone currently operates studios throughout the South Shore, including locations in Cohasset, Hanover and Kingston, with additional Massachusetts studios recently opened in Somerville and planned for Charlestown and Brighton.

Merrill said Boie and Hale are well-positioned to grow the brand locally.

“Heidi and Darlene continue to be ideal franchise partners given their commitment to the btone brand and their proven success,” she said. “With Darlene’s roots in Marshfield, this opening is especially exciting.”

The Marshfield studio’s Webster Square location offers ample parking and easy access, making it convenient for residents to fit a workout into their day.

“Our priority is to make the btone FITNESS experience fast, effective and accessible for the South Shore community,” the owners said. “This is the ideal workout to kick off the new year.”
