Cohasset, Hingham, Hull, Marshfield, Norwell, Scituate, and Weymouth have received funding through the Fiscal Year 2025 Regional Economic Development Organization (REDO) Grant Program, State Senator Patrick O’Connor announced.

The funding is part of the South Shore Economic Development Corporation, which collaborates with the South Shore Chamber of Commerce to promote regional economic growth. The program supports businesses aligning with the state's economic plan, Team MA: Leading Future Generations.

“The program’s FY25 round was funded under Chapter 140 of the Acts of 2024 (FY25 GAA),” O’Connor said.

The South Shore Economic Development Corporation plays a key role in the South Shore 2030 initiative, which includes local business leaders, nonprofit organizations, elected officials, and policy experts working toward long-term regional economic stability.

“Congratulations on being included in receiving this grant!” O’Connor said. “I’m sure this funding will aid in providing continued increased opportunities which will continue to enrich and promote economic growth on the South Shore for the enjoyment of both residents and visitors alike.”

State and regional leaders see the REDO program as a valuable tool in fostering economic development across Massachusetts.

“I am always proud to support programs that promote overall community well-being and enrichment,” O’Connor said.

The funding will be used to strengthen business development, create economic opportunities, and support local entrepreneurs, further reinforcing the South Shore's position as a growing economic hub.
