BIRDCODE, a fast-casual chicken restaurant, will open its first Massachusetts location on Wednesday, September 16, at 1978 Washington Street in Hanover, next to Starbucks.
The Hanover opening marks an important milestone for BIRDCODE as the brand expands beyond its home state of Connecticut for the first time. The restaurant is locally owned and operated by franchise partners Pat Baird and Jared Carr, who have strong ties to the South Shore community.
“Hanover felt like the right place to bring BIRDCODE to Massachusetts for the first time,” said Brandi Killoran, co-founder of BIRDCODE. “Pat and Jared have authentic roots on the South Shore and a genuine connection to the community. That local commitment is incredibly important to us as we grow BIRDCODE and introduce the brand to new communities.”
Founded by Phil and Brandi Killoran, BIRDCODE delivers a premium fast-casual experience built around high-quality food, strong company culture, Southern hospitality, and a meaningful connection to the communities it serves.
At the center of the menu is The Sando, BIRDCODE’s signature made-to-order crispy chicken sandwich. The menu also features chicken tenders, signature Code Bites, seasonal specialty drinks, and other favorites alongside house-made sauces, Southern-inspired sides, desserts, and hand-spun milkshakes.
BIRDCODE places an emphasis on fresh, high-quality ingredients and regional partnerships. The Hanover restaurant will feature products from Harmony Springs in Ludlow, Massachusetts, and Mountain Dairy in Storrs, Connecticut, along with Coca-Cola beverages.
The approximately 1,700-square-foot Hanover restaurant will offer dine-in seating and takeout, with online ordering available through the BIRDCODE app and eatbirdcode.com. The restaurant will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
Continuing its tradition of incorporating local creativity into its restaurants, BIRDCODE once again partnered with Connecticut muralist Corey Pane to create a custom installation inspired by the Hanover area and South Shore community.
To celebrate opening day, BIRDCODE Hanover will give away complimentary BIRDCODE Tshirts to guests while supplies last.
The celebration will also extend into the community. Throughout opening week, BIRDCODE Hanover will donate $1 from every Sando sold to the Hanover Food Pantry, supporting its work serving local individuals and families.
