A high-pressure system approaching the area on Thursday, January 2, 2025 has the potential to bring damaging winds to Scituate. The National Weather Service has issued a warning to all of Southern New England to expect westerly wind gusts of 45-55 mph, with isolated gusts reaching up to 60 mph between the hours of 8:00am and 8:00pm. These winds could cause damage to trees and powerlines, potentially leading to scattered power outages.
Residents and businesses should take precautions and prepare for the impending wind.
