HINGHAM – A Hanover man has been arrested on multiple charges after police say he allegedly took “upskirt” photos of women and girls in Hingham stores earlier this month.
Hingham police said 44-year-old Aedan P. Ford of 51 Push Cart Lane was arrested at his home Monday on three warrants related to incidents at Whole Foods and Kohl’s.
On Aug. 18, police were called to Whole Foods on Derby Street after staff reported a man had been taking “upskirt” photos of women inside the store. The man left before officers arrived, but detectives were able to identify him and two adult victims.
During their investigation, detectives learned the same man had allegedly taken “upskirt” photos inside Kohl’s on Aug. 14 and Aug. 17, police said. In those cases, the victims were under 18 years old.
“Detectives obtained three arrest warrants for the man and found him at his Hanover home on August 25,” Lt. Steven Dearth, public information officer for Hingham police, said in a statement. “He was arrested with the assistance of the Hanover Police and booked at the Hingham Police station.”
Ford was charged with two counts of photographing sexual or intimate parts of a child, two counts of photographing an unsuspecting nude person, and one count of assault.
Hanover police said he was taken into custody without incident and turned over to Hingham police. After booking, he was transported to Hingham District Court for arraignment on Aug. 25.
