The Cohasset School Committee is seeking a community volunteer to step into an open seat following the resignation of member Tori Hanna, who stepped down due to increased professional demands.
Committee members expressed gratitude for Hanna’s contributions, noting her dedication to the town’s schools and students. “We are grateful to Ms. Hanna for her service to our community and wish her well,” the School Committee wrote in a message to residents.
In line with Cohasset’s bylaws (30.25(G)), the School Committee will appoint a replacement who will serve until the next regular town election in 2026. Interested residents are asked to submit a statement of interest (250 words or less) to Chairperson Jen Lesky at jlesky@cohassetma.gov by Monday, September 22, 2025.
After the application deadline, the Select Board and School Committee will hold a joint open meeting where members will vote to appoint the new committee member by majority decision.
Local leaders emphasized the importance of community participation in this process. Serving on the School Committee provides a direct role in shaping Cohasset’s educational priorities and policies.
Residents with an interest in education, public service, or community leadership are encouraged to apply.
