COHASSET — The Select Board put out a call for residents to apply to a committee assisting in the search for the new town manager. The committee will comment on candidates for town manager presented by Municipal Resources, Inc., (MRI) the search firm contracted by Cohasset.

Committee members will meet with MRI five or six times over one or two months. Meetings may be held in person or over Zoom.

Previous experience on municipal boards or a familiarity with the function of a town manager is preferred, as well as experience with human resources, operations, or finance.

Applications are due January 31. Residents interested in applying should contact Erin Allard, the administrative assistant to the town manager, at eallard@cohassetma.gov. Applicants can attach a résumé or a short written statement for the Select Board to review.

Seven to nine applicants will be selected for the committee.

The Select Board appointed Michelle Leary, previously the assistant town manager, to the role of interim town manager in October 2025, after the previous town manager, Chris Senior, announced that he would not seek to renew his contract.
