Cohasset residents can look forward to the return of a beloved tradition when the Community Garden Club of Cohasset hosts its annual Books in Bloom event from June 4 through 7 at the Paul Pratt Memorial Library.
The free event, which pairs floral design with literature, features artistic arrangements created by club members and local designers inspired by their favorite books. Displays will be open to the public during regular library hours — 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Wednesday and Thursday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
A special live floral demonstration is scheduled for Saturday, June 7, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m., offering visitors a peek into the design process.
Guests will have a chance to vote for their favorite floral piece onsite by scanning QR codes throughout the exhibit. The arrangement with the most votes will receive the “Best in Show” award.
The Community Garden Club, which has more than 100 members, organizes the event as part of its broader mission to support community programs. These include junior gardening initiatives, workshops at the senior center, local scholarships, and public beautification projects. Their work is funded through community events like the annual May Plant Sale and the biennial Yuletide House Tour, which returns on December 4.
