Norwell High School continued its commanding run through the MIAA Division 4 girls lacrosse playoffs with a decisive 16-5 win over 14-seed Lynnfield on Tuesday afternoon at the Clipper Community Complex.
The third-seeded Clippers wasted no time asserting control, with standout offensive efforts from Margot Bonnevie, who notched a hat trick and added an assist, and Holly Panttila, who also scored three goals and assisted once. Charlise Cox, Lexi Davos, Caroline Burtch, Natasha Mikus, Meri Horlbeck, and Lila Tuttle all found the back of the net in a balanced offensive display that left little doubt about the outcome.
Mikus contributed a team-high three assists in addition to her goal, while Horlbeck and Cox each finished with two goals and one assist. Burtch added two goals of her own, and Davos registered two goals and one assist.
But the moment of the match belonged to senior goalie Charlotte Pithie, who recorded seven saves to surpass the 500 career saves milestone — a rare feat and a testament to her consistency in the cage.
With the win, Norwell advances to the MIAA Division 4 quarterfinals. A date, time, and opponent for the next round will be announced shortly.
