Under the bright lights Monday December 22, Hingham’s winter track teams delivered a strong all-around performance, sweeping Silver Lake with grit, speed, and plenty of personal bests. The girls earned a hard-fought 54–46 victory, while the boys followed with a commanding 58–42 win.

The girls rose to the occasion in key events, led by a standout night from Lindsey McManus. McManus led the team with victories in the high jump, long jump, and as part of the 4x200 relay.

Hingham’s depth showed throughout the night. Maggie Towle captured wins in the 600 meters and the 4x200 relay, Paige Bartlett took the 300 meters and joined the relay victory, and Maddie Everett sprinted to first in the 55 meters while also anchoring the 4x200.

The 4x200 relay of McManus, Everett, Bartlett, and Towle turned in a performance that now ranks 16th in Division 3, and we can’t wait to see them improve as the season progresses.

Other highlights include personal and season best from Ally Mildrum with an over 10-second improvement and Skyla Austin and Gabby Ferrara in the mile. Kali Benham, Coco Lucas and Maggie Pierce in the 300 and Celia McCarthy in the 600. On the field, Paige Bartlett and Lindsey McManus shone in the Long Jump and Adeline Lundin in the Shot Put.

The boys matched the momentum with a 58–42 win, fueled by strong distance performances and big field event results.

Brendan O’Neill set a personal record in the 600 meters with a time of 1:33.56, while Tommy Simpson placed first in the 1000 meters at 2:48.17. In the mile, Gavin Anderson ran a personal best 4:52.62 to take first place, followed closely by Travis O’Neill in second at 4:58.41.

The two-mile was all Hingham, with Travis O’Neill winning in 10:42.66 and Gavin Anderson right behind in second at 10:48.93.

In the hurdles, Jack Griffin, John Feely and Rex Chen all recorded personal bests in the 55 and finished 1,2 and 3. The high jump saw Owen Bernard clear 5’10" for first place and a personal record. Meanwhile James Slankas earned third with a PR jump of 5’6" inches and a first with a personal best 17’5”in the long jump.

The weight throw was another highlight, as Zach Wong and Owen Bernard swept first and second place, both posting personal records with Zach throwing over 50’.

Across the Reggie, Hingham had bright lights all around this week, setting the tone for a strong winter season ahead.
