This election season, I am proud to vote for a candidate who is truly invested in my community. Lori Childs - who is running to represent Hanover, Hanson, Rockland, and Norwell - was my Girl Scout leader throughout elementary school. At age six, I had a major spinal operation, which left me mostly housebound for several months as I learned to walk again. Though my recovery was painful, what upset me most was missing out on my day-to-day activities. However, I have a fond memory of Lori visiting my home with handmade cards and gifts to lift my spirits.
Long before serving on Rockland’s Select Board, Lori taught me the importance of showing up for others. During the time I’ve spent volunteering with her campaign, I have seen these same values in action.
Instead of focusing on divisive culture war issues, Lori prioritizes the issues that affect us all, like lowering the cost of living and ensuring access to clean drinking water. Because of this, I have seen residents from across the political spectrum voice their support for Lori. She has spent years showing up for her community, and I’m excited to see the changes she could make as State Representative.
