Shirley K. (Wright) Erickson, 96, of Plymouth, formerly of Lakeville, passed away after a brief illness, on February 4, 2026. Born and schooled in Middleboro, MA, she was the daughter of John and Helen Wright. Shirley forfeited a scholarship to Bridgewater State College in 1947 in order to marry and raise a family with her high school sweetheart Donald H. Erickson of Lakeville. They were married for over 73 years when he died in 2019.
Shirley and Donald lived in Lakeville for over 50 years. She is survived by four children, two brothers, five grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and many nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Shirley was a woman of great faith and strength. Her family and friends will always remember her loving, hospitable and joyful words and deeds.
A short memorial service will be held at the Bay Community Alliance Church in Buzzards Bay on Saturday, February 14th at 11am. Internment will be at the National Cemetery in Bourne in the spring. Shirley's family is planning a celebration of her life for friends and family in May.
Her life was a blessing... her memory a treasure.
