Joyce, Patrick J. “Pat” of Whitman, passed away surrounded by his loving family on September 11, 2026. He was 79 years old.
Pat came to the United States in 1971 and built a life through hard work, loyalty, and perseverance. He worked as a laborer and was a proud member of Local 223 for more than 50 years. He earned the respect of those around him through his dependable nature and strong work ethic.
Pat enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, especially fishing and sailing. He was also an avid sports fan who loved following his favorite teams and talking about the games.
Above all, Pat was devoted to his family. He was a loving husband for 57 years to his wife Maggie and a proud Dadó who cherished his family deeply. His Irish heritage was an important part of his life, and he took great pride in the large and loving family that surrounded him.
Pat will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family and friends, who will carry his memory in their hearts and in the stories they share.
Pat is predeceased by his parents, John and Nora (Flaherty) Joyce and his brother Martin Joyce.

Cherished father to John Joyce and his wife Ann of Hanover, Mary Margaret Joyce of Whitman, Dermot Joyce of Dorchester, Patrick Joyce and his wife Sarah of Holbrook, Jennifer Joyce and her husband Dave Webb of Brockton, and Colm Joyce and his wife Kathy of Carraroe, Ireland. Proud Dadó of John Patrick Joyce, Sean Michael Joyce, Brenden Joyce, Niamh Joyce, Patrick Joyce, Myles Joyce, Christopher Joyce, Eric Joyce-Webb, Martin Joyce-Webb, MaggieGrace Joyce, Hugh Joyce, and Daithi Joyce. Brother to Coilin Joyce and his wife Noreen, Sean Joyce, Mary McDonagh and her husband Bartla, and Josie Joyce and his wife Ann, all of Galway. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family and fiends, both here and overseas.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to greet the family during the visiting hours on Tuesday, September 15, 2026 from 4-8 PM in the McDonald Keohane Funeral Home NORTH WEYMOUTH at 40 Sea Street (off Route 3A - Bicknell Square). A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, September 16, 2026 in St. Joseph’s Holbrook, 153 South Franklin Street, at 10 AM. Burial in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Boston. In lieu of flowers, donations in Pat’s name may be made to the Town of Whitman Council of Aging, P.O. Box 426 Whitman, MA 02382.
