Joan F. Caddigan, age 95, went home to be with the Lord on February 5, 2026, passing peacefully surrounded by loved ones.

She was born January 9, 1931 in Canton, Massachusetts, to the late Lena (Devine) Collins and Joseph Collins.

A longtime resident of Norwell, Joan was the first female auctioneer in Massachusetts and continued her career for over 5 decades. She completed over 50 auctions a year and was a member of many associations. Joan earned many awards and was inducted into the Massachusetts Auctioneer's Hall of Fame induction in 2010.

In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband Robert A. Caddigan as well as her two sons Jeffrey B. Caddigan and Jeremy J. Caddigan.

Joan's legacy and memory of a well-lived life will be carried on by those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her sense of humor, kindness, love, generosity, and perseverance will be everlasting.

Visitation at the Sullivan Funeral Homes, 551 Washington St. Rte. 53, Hanover, MA on Friday, February 20, 2026 from 8:00-8:45 AM, followed by 9:00 AM Mass at Our Lady of the Angels Parish - St. Mary's, 392 Hanover St. Rte. 139, Hanover, MA. Due to recent weather, the interment at Washington Street Cemetery, Norwell, MA will take place at a later date.
