South Shore band, The Wickies, chosen as support act for the world-touring Rolling Stones Tribute Experience, The Blushing Brides, at CNote Music Hall in Hull, MA on May 30th at 7:30 PM.
The Wickies, an all-Scituate member band, was chosen by Barbara Rhind, owner of The CNote Music Hall in Hull to open the Blushing Brides show. Barbara has had a long-standing relationship with the renowned tribute act, having hosted the Brides for sold-out shows at the landmark beachfront venue. The Wickies have also taken the stage at The CNote several times over the years in both opening and headlining spots.
“The CNote is proud to host The Blushing Brides again this year. They’re by far the most authentic Rolling Stones tribute experience. This is, without a doubt, one of our biggest events of the year!” says Barbara Rhind, owner of the CNote.
Hailing from Toronto, Canada, Blushing Brides are considered a top-tier, fan favorite Rolling Stones tribute band that has been touring for decades and typically pass through the Mass. area only once a year. They bring an entertaining, energetic tribute experience that spans the wide spectrum of material that has made The Rolling Stones rock royalty.
Commenting on selecting a support act for this special event, Barbara continued: “Each year we bring in a local South Shore band to open The Blushing Brides show. For Saturday, May 30th, I offered the opportunity to The Wickies and luckily for us, they accepted! I landed on The Wickies because they are a terrific cover band who not only have their own fans and followers - but also because of their high energy and their knack for keeping folks up on the dance floor and totally engaged in their music. The Wickies will kick start the event at 8PM sharp. This will be a very exciting show!”
The Wickies have been on the South Shore music scene since 2019, covering songs from all eras and styles from 60’s, 70’s and 80’s rock to disco to 90’s hip-hop and alternative to 2000’s hits and beyond. The Wickies have built a solid fan following by continually winning over both “regulars” and walk in crowds of all ages at venues all over. Backed by an extensive song list that is always growing, The Wickies play songs that everyone recognizes, they tweak some specific songs to make them their “own” style and play some songs that often surprise crowds that other bands don’t usually cover. Their approach and solid musicianship make The Wickies a standout band in the area with being a consistently booked band for area venues, hired for private events and fundraisers around New England, securing a slot on the upcoming annual Hanover Day Music Festival in June, and of course this show with The Blushing Brides.
