South Shore Conservatory (SSC) has received a $7,500 Autism Community Impact Grant from the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism, funding that will expand its Creative Arts Therapies programming for individuals with autism.

The grant, awarded through a competitive application process, supports underserved and culturally diverse communities in line with the Flutie Foundation’s mission. The funding will help SSC increase access to arts-based therapies, removing financial barriers for families and individuals who might otherwise be unable to participate.

SSC, which aims to be a leader in inclusive and accessible arts education on the South Shore, offers music and dance therapy, drum circles, and the SSC Community Voices choruses. These programs provide participants with tools for self-expression, social engagement, and confidence-building.

“We are grateful to the Flutie Foundation for their continued support of our Creative Arts Therapies programming,” said Kristi Faby, SSC’s Director of Community Engagement. “The impact of continued funding from the Flutie Foundation is bringing quality, accessible arts programming to individuals with disabilities throughout the South Shore.”

Nick Savarese, Executive Director of the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism, emphasized the grant’s role in meeting critical needs. “The Flutie Foundation Autism Community Impact Grant helps our partner agencies address a variety of significant needs in the autism community,” he said. “Programs such as these help people on the autism spectrum live life to the fullest, and we are proud to support their efforts.”

The funding will allow SSC to expand opportunities for individuals with autism to engage in creative arts outside their homes, strengthening connections and fostering a sense of community.
