Ocean Kai Restaurant Transitions to Next Generation of Ownership

Longtime Manager Takes Ownership from Mother in Family Business Transfer

Nick Puleo

The Hingham Select Board has approved the transfer of ownership for Ocean Kai restaurant, marking a significant transition within the family-owned establishment at 300 Lincoln Street.

Connie Tcio, who has served as the restaurant's manager for the past decade, is taking over ownership from her mother, Luciana Wong. The transition represents a continuation of family ownership for the establishment.

"It's transfer into family from mother to daughter," explained Attorney Jeffery Tacchio, representing the transfer application. "Connie has been the manager for the last 10 years, so she's been the manager of record and she's been there employed for 25 years full time and then intermittently for many, many years."

The restaurant's operations will remain largely unchanged under the new ownership. "The floor plan that is on file submitted will remain the same," Tacchio confirmed during the presentation to the Select Board.

The Select Board unanimously approved the transfer of license from Ocean Kai Inc. to Ocean Kai Restaurant Inc., with Board members Joe Fisher, Liz Klein, and William Ramsey all voting in favor of the transition.
